  26. What Is Square One Lite?
  27. Square One Lite is a utility that puts all your programs and files in a single, handy icon palette. You can bring your palette to the front by dragging your mouse to the lower right corner. You can open anything in your palette by double-clicking on it. With Square One Lite, you can:

  30. ･ Keep your desktop clean.
  31. ･ Find and open a particular file on your disk-drive.
  32. ･ Switch between running programs.
  33. ･ Quit any running program with a click.

  36. Whatﾕs ﾒLiteﾓ About Square One Lite?
  37. ･ Square One Lite cannot rebuild your Desktop, empty the Trash, Shut Down/Restart your Mac, or automatically hide background applications. The full version can.
  38. ･ Although Square One Lite is fully PowerMac compatible, it is not Accelerated for PowerMacintosh. The full version is accelerated for the PowerMacintosh.
  39. ･ Square One Lite does not support the following special items: Launch Groups, QuicKeys/KeyQuencer Macros, or URLs. All these items can be added to your palette in the full version.
  40. ･ Square One Lite does not track recently used documents. The full version does.
  41. ･ Square One Lite does not allow you to press Option-Tab to switch between running programs. The full version does.
  42. ･ You can't launch or switch to Square One Lite by pressing a Hot Key.
  43. ･ Square One Lite does not have built-in commands to sort palette items, rebuild a palette's icons, or validate a palette.
  44. ･ Square One Lite palettes are a fixed, gray color. Palettes can be any color in the full version.
  45. ･ Square One Lite does not support AppleScript. The full version does.

No installation is necessary. Just double click Square One Lite. You can use Square One Lite's AppleGuide to get started fast (check the help menu at the top right of the menu bar, next to the application menu). Complete user documentation can be found in the folder Square One Lite 3.0 User Guide.

  105. NOTICE TO USER: THIS IS A CONTRACT.  BY INSTALLING THIS SOFTWARE YOU ACCEPT ALL THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THIS AGREEMENT. IF YOU ARE UNWILLING TO AGREE TO THESE TERMS, THEN BINARY SOFTWARE IS UNWILLING TO LICENSE THE SOFTWARE TO YOU.

This Binary Software Incorporated (ﾒBinaryﾓ) License Agreement accompanies a Binary software product and related explanatory written materials ("Software"). The term ﾒSoftwareﾓ shall also include any upgrades, modified versions or updates of the Software licensed to you by Binary.  This copy of the Software is licensed to you as the end user. Please read this Agreement carefully.

YOU ARE PERMITTED TO EVALUATE THE SOFTWARE, FREE OF CHARGE FOR 30 DAYS. YOU MUST PAY THE REGISTRATION FEE TO BINARY SOFTWARE TO RIGHTFULLY USE THE SOFTWARE AFTER THE 30-DAY EVALUATION PERIOD. Provided you pay, Binary grants to you a nonexclusive license to use the Software, provided that you agree to the following:

  113. You may install the Software in a single location on a hard disk or other storage device and make backup copies of the Software.

  115. You may make unlimited copies of the Software and give copies to other persons or entities as long as the copies contain this Agreement and the same copyright and other proprietary notices that appear on or in the Software.

  118. Copyright

The Software is owned by Binary Software, and is protected by various laws, including United States copyright law and international copyright treaties. Therefore, you must treat the Software like any other copyrighted material, except that you are permitted to make archival copies of the Software for backup purposes, provided that you destroy all archival copies in the event you permanently transfer possession of the Software, or if your continued possession of the Software ceases to be rightful. You may not copy the User Documentation. You agree not to modify, adapt, translate, reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble or otherwise attempt to discover the source code of the Software.  This Agreement does not grant you any intellectual property rights in the Software.

  123. You may not rent, lease, or sublicense the Software. You may, however, transfer all your rights to use the Software to another person or entity, provided that you transfer this Agreement with the Software.

The Software is being delivered to you AS IS and Binary makes no warranty as to its use or performance. BINARY AND ITS SUPPLIERS DO NOT AND CANNOT WARRANT THE PERFORMANCE OR RESULTS YOU MAY OBTAIN BY USING THE SOFTWARE OR DOCUMENTATION. BINARY AND ITS SUPPLIERS MAKE NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, AS TO NONINFRINGEMENT OF THIRD PARTY RIGHTS, MERCHANTABILITY, OR FITNESS FOR ANY PARTICULAR PURPOSE. IN NO EVENT WILL BINARY OR ITS SUPPLIERS BE LIABLE TO YOU FOR ANY CONSEQUENTIAL, INCIDENTAL OR SPECIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING ANY LOST PROFITS OR LOST SAVINGS, EVEN IF AN ADOBE REPRESENTATIVE HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY CLAIM BY ANY THIRD PARTY. Some states or jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental, consequential or special damages, or the exclusion of implied warranties or limitations on how long an implied warranty may last, so the above limitations may not apply to you.

  130. Governing Law and General Provisions

This Agreement will be governed by the laws of the State of California, U.S.A., excluding the application of its conflicts of law rules. This Agreement will not be governed by the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods, the application of which is expressly excluded. If any part of this Agreement is found void and unenforceable, it will not affect the validity of the balance of the Agreement, which shall remain valid and enforceable according to its terms. You agree that the Software will not be shipped, transferred or exported into any country or used in any manner prohibited by the United States Export Administration Act or any other export laws, restrictions or regulations. This Agreement shall automatically terminate upon failure by you to comply with its terms. This Agreement may only be modified in writing signed by an authorized officer of Binary.

If this product is acquired under the terms of a: GSA contract-Use, reproduction or disclosure is subject to the restrictions set forth in the applicable ADP Schedule contract;  DoD contract-Use, duplication or disclosure by the Government is subject to restrictions as set forth in subparagraph (c) (1) (ii) of 252.227-7013;  Civilian agency contract-Use, reproduction, or disclosure is subject to 52.227-19 (a) through (d) and restrictions set forth in the accompanying end user agreement.
